賽制與章程
1. No. of Teams
A total of 12 teams will participate this year.
2. Qualification
a) All GSRC members are eligible to participate this tournament.
b) Each team is allowed to register a maximum of 15 players throughout the tournament upon consideration of our members’ working nature and hours of operation however a maximum of 12 players can be registered for playing any matches only. No change of the players is allowed within 48 hours of any scheduled matches.
c) A player cannot play for more than one team throughout the tournament.
d) The captain of each team is responsible for ensuring that each player of his team is qualified to play. The Committee may order to disqualify the team for ignorance of the rules or failure to check adequately.
3. Venue
LCSD Sports Centres in Kowloon and New Territories.
4. Date and Time
All matches are to be played in Monday to Friday between 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the match schedule will be given off in due course.
5. Format of Competition
12 teams have been divided into 3 groups Group A (4), Group B (4) and Group C (4) in which Group A, B & C seeded by the 3 teams in playoff matches last year. The remaining teams would then be allocated into different groups by drawing lot method. Single round system is played within each group in the preliminary round. The first team with the highest score from each Group (3 teams) and the Best Second Team* among three groups (1 team) will be qualified to the playoff stage, which will be 4 teams in total playing knockout matches.
Score in the single round system
I. In the event a draw at the end of the scheduled playing time, a “Golden” free throw under sudden death rule will determine the winner. The winner of the game will receive two (2) points, and the loser will receive one (1) point, no point will be given to any walk over team.
II. If two teams get the same points, the winner will be the win side of their match. If more than 2 teams equal, the net scores of gain and loss among them will determine the winner(s). If the tie persists, the total score gained in all matches played among them will then determine the winner(s).
If still tied again, drawing lots.
* Best Second Team in the single round system
The highest points gained in group will determine the best second team. If more than 1 team get the same points, the highest net scores of gain and loss in group among them will determine the best second team. If the tie persists, the highest total scores gained in all matches played in group will then determine the best second team. A draw among the qualified teams will be conducted if the above cannot determine the best second team.
6. Prizes
The Champion = HK$4,000 coupon, 1 Trophy and 12 Medals
1st Runner Up = HK$2,500 coupon, 1 Trophy and 12 Medals
2nd Runner Up = HK$2,000 coupon, 1 Trophy and 12 Medals
3rd Runner Up = HK$1,500 coupon, 1 Trophy and 12 Medals
Top Scorer# = HK$500 coupon and 1 Trophy
Top 3P Shooter^ = HK$500 coupon and 1 Trophy
Top Rebounder^ = HK$500 coupon and 1 Trophy
Top Assists Leader^ = HK$500 coupon and 1 Trophy
# Who obtains the highest average score (3 games) both in preliminary and playoff round
^ Who obtains the highest total (min 2 games) in preliminary round
7. Uniform
Each team is requested to prepare at least one set of uniform (same colour with numbers 4-15). If uniform is not available, the team can borrow the number vests from the committee in advance booking.
8. Rules and Regulations
a) The International Amateur Basketball Federation, unless otherwise specified, will in accordance with the rules and regulations as those lay down all playing rules.
b) There will be a total of 4 quarters and each will be lasted for 10 minutes. The time break between the 1st and 2nd as well as the 3rd and 4th quarters is 1 minute. The time break between the 2nd and 3rd quarters (halftime break) is 5 minutes. Time-outs are 1 minute each.
Clock (stop time of games)
There would be no stop time in all-preliminary matches, except time-out as requested by coach.
The Clock would be stopped in the playoff round matches under the following circumstances:
I. Time-out as requested by the coach.
II. Last 2 minutes in the 4th quarters.
c) The decisions of the appointed referees shall be final. No complaints whatsoever against their decisions will be entertained.
d) All players must observe the rules and regulations laid down by the respective venue for using their sports facilities.
e) The captain of each team is responsible for ensuring that each player of his team is qualified to play. The captain must submit a list of players with the corresponding number of their vests to the referee/pitch attendant 15 minutes before the commencement of each match together with company staff cards for inspection.
9. Referee
Professional referees will be employed for the competition. Each team member is requested to obey the judgments made by the official referees. All protests of claims in connection with the match must be lodged in writing to the GSRC Basketball Committee within 48 hours after the match concerned. The decision made by the Committee will be considered final.
10. Fixture
Application for change of fixture will not be allowed, however the Committee reserves the right to amend or change the fixture when it becomes necessary and sufficient advance notice will be given to the parties involved.
11. Walk-over
Each team should arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time of each match. A team will be considered conceding a walkover if, at 5 minutes after the scheduled time less than 5 players are on the field. The opposing team will be considered as the winning team. (With score of 20:0)
A penalty of HK$200 will be charged to the walkover team.
12. Discipline
In the event of fighting between the teams during any match, which resulted in the suspension of the match, the Committee would have the authority to disqualify the team(s) involved for all the following matches and the matter may be reported to the Head of the Department concerned.
13. Miscellaneous
The Basketball Committee reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations at its discretion and any matter not covered by these will be dealt with by the Committee as it may deem fit.
